Amazon Product Launch1

At eCommerce Planners, we help our clients build brand recognition, maintain a brand presence, as well as amazon product launch their brands from scratch. We’ve seen it all, so if you have a brand whether big or small with a story to tell, we’ve put together some tips for a successful Amazon Product Launch:

Know Amazon’s Business: Amazon can be an excellent sales channel, but before you jump into the platform, it’s important to do your homework. Study competitors in your category, research future trends, and even follow Jeff Bezos on Twitter! Read articles, follow blogs, and stay informed about all things Amazon Products. Launching on Amazon is an exciting, but also tedious process. Make sure you are ready.

Get Organized: If you have a hard time being organized, now is the time to call someone who is. Content images or assets should be labeled by product name and organized by type; we recommend dividing them into folders named as follows: “Product”, “Lifestyle” (or lifestyle images), and “Logos”. Another tip: keep your SKUs organized. During the setup process, it will be crucial to be clear about the SKU-to-ASIN relationship.

Go Back To Basics: Even if you consider yourself to have extensive knowledge of Amazon, it’s always a good idea to return to basics. At eCommerce Planners we are constantly updating our Amazon basics, which are a great way to check your content and brand strategy.

Product Reviews: The Amazon Early Reviewer program is a great tool for new products on Amazon. Having positive product reviews has a big impact on your rankings. Another tip is to use packaging inserts (printed advertising material on the packaging) which helps encourage reviews.

Have The Right Inventory: Amazon has several useful tools that can guide you through managing your inventory. Most importantly: Be sure to keep an eye on the calendar for important dates and re-stock popular products frequently. Your inventory levels can affect the A9 algorithm.

Set Your Expectations: Amazon doesn’t work instantly. You will notice an increase in your rank approximately 45 days after the product or brand launch. Seller Central also has an FBA Revenue Calculator that you can refer to. While it is important to set goals, also make sure those goals are realistic and set expectations when you first launch a new brand or even new products.

Strategy: It’s important to make sure customers see a consistent message on each platform. Whether or not you have an eComm site, customers should hear a consistent brand voice on Amazon, social media, and in marketing materials. One way to help increase sales and brand awareness is to have an organized content calendar. Make sure all the teams you work with advertising, social and creative are aligned with this calendar to execute an effective strategy.

Re-Evaluate Your Brand: Once you’ve started on Amazon Product Launch and have had time to get performance reports, evaluate whether you need to readjust your content and advertising strategies. Amazon is constantly improving, so you should too.

Ask For Help if You Need it: If you’re a new seller and don’t know where to start or have an established brand that wants to take it to the next level, our team of Amazon experts can help.
