The new Smart #1 2023, which is an electric SUV, is scheduled to begin delivery. 25 years after the introduction of the first two-seater Smart city car, the debut of the Smart #1 marks the beginning of Smart’s transition to an all-electric vehicle producer.

The Smart #1 was created under Smart’s joint ownership with Daimler-Geely, and the first 100 #1s going to the UK will be Launch Edition vehicles with unique design elements drawn from the Smart Concept #1, which made its premiere in Munich in 2021. In addition, Pro+, Premium, and high performance Brabus versions are available for consumers to select from.

The Smart #1 Launch Edition is painted white, just like the Munich display car, with a striking gold roof that also has a distinctive checkered pattern. The 19-inch alloy wheels now have the same graphics, while the special edition’s interior is distinguished by two-tone leather upholstery and custom trim colors.

Like the Premium, it has adaptive cruise control, a wireless smartphone charging pad, matrix LED headlights, a 13-speaker Beats sound, and an autonomous parking capability. The Pro+ model, which costs the least, has features that are found on all models, including heated seats, a 360-degree camera system, a panoramic sunroof, a 12.8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto connection.

The highest performing Smart Brabus #1, with a full bodykit for sharper appearance to support the sportier performance from its 4×4 drivetrain, is at the top of the line-up.

The Smart #1 is built on Geely’s brand-new SEA electric architecture. This will serve as the foundation for Smart’s next new line of electric vehicles, which will include the Smart #3. The #1 also serves as a model for the brand’s future design orientation. Auto Express is aware that the company will utilize the same “#” numbered nomenclature for all future vehicles, placing its products chronologically as opposed to by size or industry.
