Overview – DBX File Format

The DBX file format is associated with Outlook Express, an email client developed by Microsoft. Outlook Express was included with various versions of the Windows operating system until Windows XP, after which it was replaced by Windows Mail in Windows Vista and subsequently discontinued. How to Import DBX to Gmail Account?

As of my last update in September 2021, Gmail does not natively support importing DBX files directly into an account. Gmail primarily uses the IMAP protocol for email access, and DBX files are associated with Outlook Express, an older email client that uses the POP3 protocol.

To import your emails from DBX files into Gmail, you’ll need to follow these general steps:

Step 1: Export Emails from Outlook Express (DBX to PST)

Since Gmail can import emails from other email clients that support the PST format, you’ll need to convert your DBX files to PST format first. To do this, you can use a third-party DBX to PST converter tool. There are various converters available online that can help you convert your DBX files to PST files.

Step 2: Import PST File into Microsoft Outlook

Once you have the PST file, you can import it into Microsoft Outlook. Here’s how you can do it:

1. Open Microsoft Outlook on your computer.
2. Go to “File” in the top menu and select “Open & Export.”
3. Choose “Import/Export” from the options.
4. In the Import and Export Wizard, select “Import from another program or file” and click “Next.”
