What is Flixonase?

Flixonase 50 mcg is an anti-inflammatory steroid medicine that comes in a nasal spray form. Containing 50 micrograms of fluticasone propionate, it effectively treats the different symptoms of allergic rhinitis that create inflammation inside of your nose. It can be taken at the same time when you need to take the oral antihistamine drug. It can treat all the symptoms created due to allergies.

How to use Flixonase 50 mcg?

Before taking medicine, it is essential to follow the prescription of the doctors or guidelines of the pharmacists and read the enclosed leaflet carefully. For preventing allergic rhinitis in adults or children over age 12, doctors recommend the dose of two sprays into each nostril. You need to use it daily, preferably in the morning. If you feel the symptoms come under your control, then the doctor usually reduces the dose, such as one spray, into each nostril daily. But if the symptoms do not improve after using the medicine for long days, you need to inform your physician, and he or she will increase the dose, such as two sprays twice a day.

Children between the age should start the dose of one spray into each nostril daily. Try to take it in the morning. The dose can be increased after the body adjusts to the medicine. After the long term, if your child’s symptoms do not improve, then the doctor increases the dose. But, it restricts using children under 4 years of age. You should take medicine regularly to get the best result. If you stop taking it occasionally, it may not work correctly. After taking 3 to 4 days regularly, you may expect the best result.

All people cannot take Flixonase 50 mcg as it is not recommended to all people, such as children under 4, pregnant ladies and also breastfeeding women.

Suppose you are a user of other medicine like pills for heart disease, kidney tablets, pills for high pressure, high cholesterol, high sugar, ritonavir, ketoconazole etc. In that case, you have to inform your doctor before taking the Flixonase nasal spray. It is not suitable for people with allergic to fluticasone propionate or other substance.

Flixonase Nasal Spray Side Effects

Flixonase 50 mcg also has some side effects like other medicines. These are nose bleeds, headaches, and unpleasant sensations in taste or smell. If you experience such side effects after taking the nasal spray, inform your doctor as soon as possible, and talk to them.

Precautions:

You must be careful about using the nasal spray if you have nasal infections. It can change your heart rate. It is crucial to monitor your child’s height if they have to use the spray for the long term.

 If you use the medicine in high doses:  

A mature man should take the Flixonase 50 mcg 2 to 3 times per day per doctor’s prescription.

When should the medicine not be used?

If you skip one dose of the pill, the doctor recommends taking it as soon as you remember before going to bed with your partner.

Warnings for people with certain health conditions

This medicine may create serious side effects in patients with different health conditions. You should contact your doctor immediately if you have any severe disease. In this situation, sometimes doctors stop the medicine and advise them to take proper medical treatment to prevent such issues.
