From Sea to Scenic Drives Embrace the Beauty of Grand Cayman with Car Rental Perks

Hey there, fellow road trippers! If you’re journeying across this vast and beautiful country, chances are you’ll find yourself cruising down Old Route 66 or I-40, right through Oklahoma City. But here’s the scoop: don’t just blast through – we’ve got plenty of reasons why you should hit the brakes, take a detour, and explore this fantastic city. We’re going to show you some must-visit spots and, of course, a couple of fantastic Harvest Host brewery locations where you can savor local brews and spend the night with peace of mind.

Sightseeing in OKC: A Quick Tour

Let’s start with a whirlwind tour of some of our favorite sites in and around OKC. First up is the awe-inspiring Oklahoma State Capitol building. Its architecture is simply breathtaking, making it feel like you’re strolling through an art museum.

Myriad Botanical Gardens: If you’re a nature enthusiast, the lush Myriad Botanical Gardens downtown is a must-visit. Take a leisurely stroll along immaculate paths and explore the stunning Vernon Gardens. The Crystal Bridge tropical Conservatory is the centerpiece and worth every minute of your time.

Bricktown: Sports fans, rejoice! Head to Bricktown, home to the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame and Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. As you walk along the Bricktown Canal, you’ll pass by shops, restaurants, and pubs. Don’t forget to hop on a Water Taxi for a unique view of the area.

Plaza District: For a truly unique neighborhood experience, Plaza District is the place to be. Hip eateries, funky shops, and thrift stores filled with retro treasures await you. But the real gems here are the public artworks, adorning almost every building. It’s like an outdoor art gallery.

Oklahoma National Memorial: A visit to Oklahoma City wouldn’t be complete without stopping at the moving Oklahoma City National Memorial. It pays tribute to the survivors, rescuers, and victims of the tragic events of April 19, 1995. The 168 empty chairs are especially poignant.

Asian District – A Culinary Adventure: After sightseeing, it’s time for a culinary adventure in the Asian District. Our recommendation? Fa Lin KOA, where you can savor the most delicious bonbeau way. Don’t forget to try the grilled pork spring rolls – they’re delightful.

Now, for the Beer Aficionados:

Now, for the beer enthusiasts among you, it’s time to savor some fantastic local brews at Harvest Host breweries in OKC. We’re starting with Anthem Brewing Company, where we met the friendly bartender Chad. We sampled their Belgian blonde ale, lager, and even a Belgian quadruple, all of which were fantastic.

Next up is Lively Beer Works, boasting a modern tasting room and a wide selection of taps. Their rice lager and amber lager are must-tries.

Angry Scotsman Brewery: Located in a cool, lounge-like space with an outdoor beer garden, Angry Scotsman Brewery offers a unique selection of Scottish and Belgian-inspired brews. Don’t miss their barley wine.

A Trip to Guthrie: Our last brewery stop takes us to Guthrie, a charming town just north of OKC. Here, you’ll find Wander Folk Spirits, where they serve some amazing spirits, including Same Old Moses Bourbons.

Conclusion – Slow Down and Savor: Oklahoma City

So, there you have it, fellow travelers – plenty to see and do in and around Oklahoma City, including some incredible Harvest Host locations for sipping and relaxing. Don’t just rush through; spend some quality time exploring this beautiful part of our country. Until next time, safe travels, and we’ll see you on the road!
